Violet Flower Lemonade
Basic Violet Lemonade
There’s something a little magical about violet lemonade—especially the way the color shifts right before your eyes. What starts as a deep blue infusion transforms into a soft pink-purple with the squeeze of a lemon.
It’s simple, seasonal, and a beautiful way to use those small spring violets growing right outside.
Ingredients
1–2 cups fresh violet flowers
2 cups boiling water
1 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup sugar (or to taste)
Directions
Make the infusion
Pour 2 cups of boiling water over the violet petals. Let steep for 10–15 minutes.
Strain
Strain out the flowers, gently squeezing them to release all the color.
Mix & watch the color change
Stir in the sugar until dissolved, then add the lemon juice. As it’s added, the color will shift from blue to a vibrant pink or purple.
Serve
Stir well and pour over ice. Taste and adjust the sweetness or lemon as needed.
A simple note
Harvest from clean areas that haven’t been sprayed.
